Outdoor Adventures' Offerings
Outdoor Adventures offers a variety of outdoor adventure activities to students, faculty/staff, and community members throughout the entire year. Our vast programming offers amazing experiences that anyone can enjoy. For water lovers, we have whitewater rafting, standup paddle boarding, and whitewater kayaking. For land lovers - backpacking, camping, hiking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. This page is generally updated with the next quarter's offerings about a month out from registration opening.

Trip Information
We have created trip packets to assist you in planning for your trip. These packets give details such as which meals are provides, what equipment is provided and what you will want to pack. Meeting times in these packets are approximates and will be solidified by your guide staff during the pre-trip meeting.
Note: Trip prices don't always show correctly on the registration site. This sheet shows the pricing for Fall 24. Students pay "A" prices and everyone else pays "B" pricing.
Backpacking: Point Reyes
From its thunderous ocean breakers crashing against rocky headlands and expansive sand beaches to its open grasslands, brushy hillsides, and forested ridges, Point Reyes offers visitors over 1500 species of plants and animals to discover. Home to several cultures over thousands of years, the Seashore preserves a tapestry of stories and interactions of people.
While, all of our backpacking trips are designed to accommodate beginners, as well as, more experienced adventurers, this trip is the most beginner friendly location, due to the amenities available at each campground.
Fall Quarter Dates: November 2-3
Backpacking: Sierra Nevada
Located in South Lake Tahoe. Desolation Wilderness is 63,960 Acres of harsh protected area full of steep and rocky terrain. Elevation varies from 7,400-9,000 ft. elevation. It contains large mammals such as brown bears, bobcats, mule deer, coyotes, and marmots, as well as, plant life such as Jeffery Pine, Western Juniper, Mountain Hemlock. The majority of the rock is granite. Giving large rock formations and home to many lakes.
All of our backpacking trips are designed to accommodate beginners, as well as, more experienced adventurers.
Fall Quarter Dates: 10/12-10/13 AND 10/26-10/26
Camping: Lake Tahoe
Join Outdoor Adventures on an amazing camping trip near Lake Tahoe! These trips are a great way to make new friends, get away from the daily grind, and unplug while visiting some of California's most pristine wilderness locations.
These camping trips will leave Friday afternoon between 12pm and 4pm* and return back to Davis on Sunday evening.
*exact leave time will be determined by participants but can not leave later than 4pm.
Fall Quarter Dates: 10/4-10/6
Camping: Redwoods
For the sheer size of its trees, no redwood park can beat Humboldt Redwoods. The world’s densest and most impressive stands of big trees are found here, along the Eel River and Bull Creek. Many of the most iconic images of the redwood forest come from Humboldt Redwoods — roads meandering through tall narrow canyons formed from huge trees, dark cathedral-like groves, and plush carpets of redwood sorrel.
Fall Quarter Dates: 11/9-11/11 AND 11/28-12/1
Camping: Yosemite
Join Outdoor Adventures on an amazing camping trip in Yosemite National Park! These trips are a great way to make new friends, get away from the daily grind, and unplug while visiting one of California's most pristine wilderness locations.
These camping trips will leave Friday afternoon between 12pm and 4pm* and return back to Davis on Sunday evening.

Day Hike: Point Reyes

Whitewater Rafting - South Fork American River
We offer whitewater rafting on 2 different sections of the South Fork of the American River - the Upper and the Lower. Both sections are jam packed with amazing class III rapids and a great experience for both folks who are new to rafting and those who have been before. Trip meeting time and location differ depending on the section of river you have signed up for. We will email you this information the week before the trip. We do not provide transportation and can not help with car pool.
During the Fall, we offer transportation for up to 7 participants for an increased fee. These spots or reserved for students who have no access to transportation.
