We have several horses for you to enjoy at the Equestrian Center, all ranging in various sizes and personalities. Read their bios and come by the EQC to visit your favorite horse!

Meet the Horses

chestnut horse

Anna

Anna is a beautiful 16.2 hand, chestnut Dutch Warmblood. She’s had an exciting show jumping career in the past and has warmed our hearts with her sweet personality. She is an all-star member of the Hunter Jumper Club.

Bay horse

Bo

Boaz "Bo", is a 15.3 hand bay thoroughbred gelding. He is the newest addition to our program. His favorite activity is sunbathing and making silly faces in exchange for treats.

Dash

Dash, a 15 hand bay quarter horse gelding. His sweet and ready to please personality has made him a favorite for all levels in the Rec Program. He loves being taken out for walks by the Guardian Angel participants and has learned to recognize the cars of people who bring him treats.

Flint

Flint is a chestnut quarter horse gelding. He is a favorite of the Rec Lesson Program and highly requested by participants. Don't let his size fool you, he is full of personality and will quickly charm anyone who works with him.

Kennedy Meadows Pack Station Horses

Mary Jane, Ace, Rambo and Johnny are new horses being generously loaned to us this year from the Kennedy Meadows Resort & Pack Station. We are very excited to have them join our Rec Riding Program and Hunter Jumper Club Team!

Levi

Levi is a black, Polish Warmblood. His exciting background made him a perfect fit for our Hunter Jumper Club. He has his own fan club and is always excited to greet visitors.

Milagro

Milagro is a grey quarter horse arabian cross. He is a member of our lesson program and is best known for making quick friends with any horse he meets and flagging his happy tail during lessons.

Odie

Odie is a dark seal bay thoroughbred gelding. He is our tallest school horse and is known as a gentle giant. He was used in a therapeutic riding program before coming to the UCD Equestrian Center.

Oso

Oso is a bay thoroughbred. He gain a reputation of breaking the "young OTTB" stigma and have proven himself to be a valuable member of our lesson program. His sweet and quirky personality is sure to make you smile.

Sasha

Sasha is a grey Arabian Mare. She is loved by the Hunter Jumper club and is a fan favorite due to her pretty coloring and refined features. She has fun personality and always loves to be taken out by the Guardian Angel Participants.

Sasson

Sasson is a 16 hand, “medicine hat” pinto gelding. He was formerly a member of the Hunter Jumper Club Team and is now a favorite in our Rec Riding Lessons. Fun fact about Sasson: his mother is Sassi- another well loved member of the UC Davis herd. Sasson is generously on loan from the Bar 717 Ranch.

Sheryll

Sheryll is an adorable purebred Arabian mare that came to us in 2015 with little formal education, but she found her way into our team program and learned quickly! Her sweet, gentle personality has made her perfect for beginners and she has become a very special part of the Hunter Jumper Club Team. Fun Fact: Sheryll's registered name was Desert Lily!

Sugar

Sugar is a 16.2, hand, bay Hanovarian gelding. He was generously donated in 2019 by a family member of a UC Davis Equestrian Team alumni. He is an experienced hunter/ jumper horse with a lovely disposition and quiet nature. Fun Fact: Sugar’s registered name was Chasing Fireflies!

Vinnie

Vinnie is a 16.1 hands, grey warmblood from Del Mar. He has joined the Hunter Jumper Club and has captured everyone’s hearts with his sweet and playful personality.
